Champagne house Gosset

Producer of Still Wines

Gosset Winery has been producing wine for over four centuries. The champagne house was established in 1584 by Jean Gosset (1484-1556). Gosset has a history that dates back long before the invention of champagne, during the time of still wines. This makes Gosset one of the oldest wineries in the Champagne region. For more than 16 generations, Gosset has followed the path laid out by Jean Gosset. The unique production process of Gosset champagne is characterized by non-malolactic fermentation, resulting in a natural fruitiness and pleasant smoothness in the champagne.

Sparkling Wine from Gosset

Gosset started by selling various red wines made from grapes in its own vineyards. With the invention of Dom Perignon for making sparkling champagnes, Gosset also began producing white sparkling champagnes.

Part of the Renaud-Cointreau Group

In 1994, Gosset was sold to the Renaud-Cointreau Group. In 2005, Gosset succeeded in increasing production to a million bottles. Under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Cointreau, the house exports 65% of its production to more than 70 different countries. Gosset champagne is made from a blend of chardonnay, pinot noir, and sometimes a fruity pinot meunier. This blend matures for four years in the cellars of Gosset.
