The Brut Impérial is a non-vintage champagne, a 'Brut Sans Année'; it includes a significant portion of 20 to 30% vins de réserve, beautifully aged wines from older years. The name Brut Impérial represents the pleasantly dry taste (Brut) and Emperor Napoléon's preference for this champagne. The refined balance of the Brut Impérial comes from over 150 different wines from various parts of the Champagne region. The Brut Impérial has an assemblage of three different grape varieties: 30 to 40% Pinot Noir, 30 to 40% Pinot Meunier, and 20 to 30% Chardonnay, with a dosage of 9 g/l.
